Looking back at mine and my wife’s wedding
It’s been almost four years, let’s take a look back at our wedding
My wife and I have been married for almost four years (from the 5th of August). We’ve been together for nearly 12 years. We organised our wedding to be on the same day and month that we got together and only had three months to organise everything. We were engaged for almost five years, and suddenly Tiff decided on a date. As long as she was happy, I wasn’t going to say no.
We had a very low budget and got a great deal with a charity venue reasonably close to us. Our photographer was just starting to grow so we bagged a great price before she got big. She was honestly worth every penny, and we loved the fact she got a great mix of posed and natural photos.
We chose to have a registry office wedding instead of a church wedding. We’re not religious and would have struggled to find a church venue on such short notice.
We chose to have a small number of family members at our wedding and only had close friends and family at the evening venue. There was plenty of food and drink to go around during the day, and we had a buffet for the evening meal and some welcome drinks.
During the day, we got to play a little hide and seek with the kids, as well as giant chess, droughts and we even found some Alice in Wonderland props. My nephews loved it, which was great.
Everyone had a great time, and we had no drama or upset during the whole day, which was entirely surprising. We mainly had rock and metal played during the evening because that’s the music we enjoy. Our first dance was Halestorm’s Here’s to us, which was the perfect song.
Tiff randomly found a helium inflated batman balloon she bought for the evening venue, and I was amazed when I saw him there. 😂
Our wedding cake(s) were incredible, and Tiff somehow managed to pull off something so incredible and amazing in such a short amount of time. I often wonder how she did it, and I’m sure she thinks the same. She could become an events planner if she ever felt like a career change.
We got back to our Airbnb after everyone decided to leave late into the evening. We were jolly and knew everything we had done was perfect, and we wouldn’t change it for the world. Some of our mates asked what do we expect to change now that we’re married. That question always confused us because we weren’t marrying for change. We were marrying because we knew we were happy and loved each other for the way we are.
