Today marks mine and my wife's 4 year anniversary!
We have reached our 4 year anniversary, and I’ve loved every second of it.
Four years ago today, I said “I do” to the most beautiful woman I have ever set eyes on. She’s incredible in so many ways and she has been my rock and number one fan. Honestly, I can’t believe we’ve reached our four year anniversary because we’ve been through a lot. Some days, it seems like we’ve been married for far longer and other days it feels like less.
We have been together for twelve years and engagaged for nine and I think if we were to go back in time, we would get married a lot sooner. Our engagement lasted a long time because I believe we were nervous and was hoping for a “right time”. The truth is, there never is a right time if you have already decided to make the commitment.
We wanted to have our own house, not get into debt and a bunch of other excuses at the time. It wasn’t until we celbrated a few friend’s weddings where Tiff decided a date and I agreed on it. The date is special because it’s the 5th of August. The same day and month I asked her to be my girlfriend.
Because we had no savings, we had to use credit cards to fund our wedding. We did it on a very tight budget and if we could do it again, we would save money, spend more time on planning and have a higher budget. However it still didn’t change the fact that it was still the best day of our life. We had an amazing time, and so did our friends and family, and that’s all that really matters.
We’ll be keeping our 4 year anniversary celebration small this year but I will still be treating her to a lovely home cooked meal. Next year will be our fifth, so I’m hoping to do something more special but I’m never very good at planning events. Stay tuned to find out what happens. 🙈
Now time to head off and celebrate this 4 year anniversary! Please also take a look at Looking back at mine and my wife’s wedding too if you’re interested to learn more about our wedding.
